  4. This is the most swinging studio album I have ever heard. Freddie Green is without a doubt the greatest rhythm guitarist that ever lived, and he propels the entire band with his subtle four to a bar strumming. I was expecting a layed-back, swinging album in the Basie tradition when I bought this album.5/5(2).
  5. You get what you expected on this wonderful swinging album from "Mr Rhythm" himself, Freddie Green. Amazingly this was the only album released under his own name and it swings from start to cerntactscurosdeploa.geitridefrasmaronilabiccithege.co surrounds himself with some great musicians, including Joe Newman, Al Cohn,Nat Pierce, Joe Jones, Osie Johnson, and Henry Coker/5(9).
  6. Freddie Green Koch Koch (label) RCA RCA (label) Jazz (CD, LP) We realize that there are many different interpretations of the standard grades used for pre-owned vinyl record albums & CD, so we thought we'd offer you the ones that we are working with, so you have an idea what we mean when we give the grade for a non-new item on our pages.
  7. Freddie Green seldom led sessions and seldom played lead. Instead, he formed part of the classic rhythm section that gave the Count Basie band its steady pulse. This rare date finds Green with tenor Al Cohn, trumpeter Joe Newman, trombonist Henry Coker, pianist Nat Pierce, bassist Milt Hinton, and either Jo Jones or Osie Johnson on drums. Mr. Rhythm, in fact, will remind many of a good Basie set.
